Telangana: Eighty-year-old woman gang-raped in Medchal

The woman, who lives alone, was overpowered by the suspects and sexually assaulted at Bandamadamaram village

Hyderabad: An 80-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men in Medchal on Thursday.

The woman, who lives alone, was overpowered by the suspects and sexually assaulted at Bandamadamaram village.


“They overpowered and raped her and fled the spot,” police said, adding that she regained consciousness and came out on the road. Passersby on seeing her alerted the police by dialing 100.

Based on a complaint, the Medchal police booked a case of gang-rape and are investigating.

Efforts are on to nab the suspects who are absconding. The victim was shifted to the hospital for medical examination.
