Telangana enters quarterfinals of Handball Federation India Championship

Telangana’s boys and girls teams qualified for the quarterfinals in the 17th Handball Federation of India Mini Boys and Girls National Championship, with the boys defeating Assam 8-3 and the girls beating Andhra Pradesh 14-7

Hyderabad: Telangana scored an 8-3 win against Assam, with A. Ranadheer scoring five and B. Raj Kumar three, to qualify for the quarterfinals in the boys’ section of the 17th Handball Federation of India Mini Boys and Girls National Championship at Nizam College Ground here.

In the girls’ section, Telangana also qualified after scoring a 14-7 win against Andhra Pradesh, with Gangubai (8) and Parvathi (4) being the main scorers.


The results: League: Boys: Delhi bt Dadra & Nagar Haveli 16-4; Telangana bt Assam 8-3; Kerala drew with Odisha 12-12; MP bt TM 13-10; Jharkhand bt Gujarat 16-15; Mumbai HA bt MP 9-7; Uttarakhand bt Maharashtra 9-7.

Girls: Haryana bt Gujarat 16-4; Dadra & Nagar Haveli bt Odisha 12-5; Mumbai HA bt Kerala 9-3; Telangana bt AP 14-7; TN bt Kerala 14-9; Jharkhand bt Karnataka 7-3; Maharashtra bt MP 7-4.
