Telangana extends Liquor shops license period till Nov 30

Hyderabad: The State government has extended the 2019-21 license period of liquor shops by one month up to November 30 since the license tenure of the shops expires next month.

The Director of Prohibition and Excise Department will take necessary action accordingly, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the State government has issued an order allotting liquor shops to Gouds, Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) through reservations for the license period 2021-23.


As per G O Ms 87, 15 per cent of liquor shops allotment would be reserved for Gouds, 10 per cent for SCs and five per cent for STs.
