Adilabad: Two farmers were assaulted when they prevented some unidentified persons from stealing sorghum grains stored at an agriculture market yard here on Wednesday night.
Farmers Dilip Reddy from Sathanala mandal and Narayana Barampur in Thalamadugu mandal sustained head injuries when the unidentified persons attacked them with sticks at the yard. They received injuries when they tried to stop the persons from lifting grains stored at the yard at around 1 am. They were admitted to RIMS-Adilabad.
The farmers arrived at the yard to sell the grains two days ago. They were guarding the grains at the time of the incident. Based on a complaint received from the farmers, a case was registered. Investigations were taken up. Police scanned footage recorded on CCTV cameras installed in the yard.
