Telangana: Farmers stage protest, seek release of water to SRSP Stage -II ayacut

Hyderabad: Farmers staged a protest on the road demanding the release of water to Sriram Sagar Project (SRSP) Stage -II ayacut. Standing crops in hundreds of acres have started withering as there has been no water supply to the project ayacut in Nellikuduru mandal of the district for quite some time.

They resented the officials who had assured water for the Rabi crops at the beginning of the season, were now expressing their helplessness. The farmers squatted on the Nellikuduru- Torrur road stalling the movement of vehicular traffic.
