Telangana Formation Day Celebrated at Arts and Science College in Hanumakonda

The Arts and Science College of Kakatiya University celebrated Telangana Formation Day with enthusiasm. Principal Professor Sunkari Jyothi highlighted the sacrifices behind Telangana's formation, announced centenary celebrations from 2026 and urged collective efforts towards NAAC accreditation and institutional excellence

Hanumakonda: The 12th Telangana Formation Day celebrations were organised with great enthusiasm on Tuesday at the Arts and Science College of Kakatiya University, Subedari, Hanumakonda.

On this occasion, the College Principal, Professor Sunkari Jyothi, hoisted the National Flag. Speaking on the occasion, she stated that the sacrifices made by students, youth, people’s organisations and activists for the achievement of a separate Telangana State would remain memorable forever. She emphasised that every citizen should contribute towards taking Telangana to greater heights of development in all sectors, fulfilling the aspirations of the people that led to the formation of the State.


Professor Jyothi noted that the Arts and Science College is a prestigious institution with a history spanning nearly a century. She recalled that eminent personalities such as former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao and renowned people’s poet Kaloji Narayana Rao had studied at the institution. She further announced that the college would celebrate its Centenary Year from August 2026 to August 2027 through year-long commemorative events.

She also informed that the college is preparing for the NAAC accreditation process and urged faculty members, non-teaching staff and students to work collectively to enhance the institution’s reputation and achieve excellence. The programme was attended by Vice Principal Dr Rehman, Public Relations Officer Dr R Adireddy, faculty members, non-teaching staff and students.
