Telangana forms SIT to probe morphed CM images, IAS defamation cases
Telangana government forms an eight-member SIT to investigate two sensitive cases: morphed images of CM A. Revanth Reddy and defamatory content against a woman IAS officer. The SIT, led by Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, will probe CCS Hyderabad and Maddur police station cases.

Hyderabad: The State government on Tuesday constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe two ‘sensitive’ cases registered at Maddur police station of Narayanpet district and the Central Crime Station (CCS) Hyderabad.
The first case pertains to the circulation of morphed and derogatory images of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. A Congress leader, Golla Narasimha, had made a complaint at Maddur police station, following which a case was registered by the police on January 11 against some persons.
The other case is related to circulation of defamatory content allegedly targeting a woman IAS officer. The CCS had registered a case after IAS officers made a complaint against two Telugu news channels and seven YouTube channels under sections 75, 78, 79, 351(1), and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The SIT is formed under the supervision of Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, following orders issued by Telangana Director-General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy.
The eight-member team will investigate cases registered at CCS, Hyderabad, and Maddur in Narayanpet district. The members of the SIT include N Swetha (Joint CP North Range), Yogesh Gautham (DCP Chevella), K Venkata Lakshmi (DCP Admin Hyderabad City), V Aravinda Babu (DCP Cybercrimes), B Pratap Kumar (Addl SP Vigilance & Enforcement), G Guru Raghavendra (ACP CCS Hyderabad), C Shankar Reddy (Inspector CI Cell) and P Harish (SI SHE Cyber Cell).
