Hyderabad: Forest Department officials on Sunday detected four dead Indian Porcupines (Histrix Indica) in a car that was heading to Nirmal from Adilabad.
Based on reliable information, Forest Range Officers Mamda, Avinash Rathod along with Deputy Range Officer Arepally, Forest Beat Officer, Arepally and Gaidpally while checking the vehicles near Mondigutta check-post, spotted one car bearing No TS02 FB 7642.
Forest staff observed that the accused had taken a ‘U’ turn and proceeded on Mondigutta Road. Two personnel from Arepally road nabbed the accused along with the car. During the search in the vehicle, the forest officials found four dead Indian Porcupines in the car.
A case was registered against the accused. Later, the First Class Judicial Magistrate Court at Nirmal ordered to remand the accused of 14 days for further investigation of the case, FDO Nirmal Siddharth Vikram Singh.
