Warangal: After harping on the need to maintain cordial relations with the union Government to ensure State’s development, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy took a ‘U’ turn and asserted that he was prepared to lock horns with New Delhi to get funds for the State

. “I will not shy (away) to demanding funds. In case, if our appeals are not considered, I will not step back to fight,” he asserted at a public meeting in Narsampet here on Friday. He reiterated that as a Chief Minister it was his responsibility to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi 100 times to get funds released and works approved.

“For Telangana’s cause, I will meet all the persons and will fight with anyone to ensure development,” Revanth Reddy said, appealing to the people to extend their support.

The Chief Minister courted controversy yet again by stating that there might be a village without lord Hanuman temple in the State but there was none without an Indiramma House. All the schools, temples, water tanks and Indiramma Houses were provided by the Congress government, Revanth Reddy stressed.
The Chief Minister made these statements close on the heels of his controversial comments on the number of Hindu deities and the rituals followed.

Stating that the past government had neglected the development of Narsampet, he said Indiramma Houses were being constructed in every village across the State. In addition to the 3,500 houses being sanctioned to each Assembly constituency, Narsampet constituency would approve another 3,500 houses in the next financial year, he promised.

The Chief Minister stressed that like the Outer Ring Road for Hyderabad, the State government had also decided to construct a ring road for Warangal, establish an underground drainage system, besides an airport.

“The land acquisition for the airport will be completed by December. By March 31, airport, underground drainage works and outer ring road works will be commenced,” Revanth Reddy assured.
