Siddipet: Municipal workers of Gajwel municipality staged a protest over delay in payment of their salaries. Despite carrying out sanitation and other civic works regularly to keep the town clean, the workers alleged that they had not been paid for months.
The protesting workers said the delay had left them without money to meet day-to-day expenses, pushing their families into financial distress. They expressed anguish that repeated appeals to the authorities had failed to yield any response.
Demanding immediate release of their pending salaries, the workers urged the government to resolve the issue without further delay. They warned that if their dues were not cleared at the earliest, they would be forced to boycott duties and intensify protest in the coming days.
