Khammam: Khanapuram Haveli Inspector of Police Bhanuprakash said that a case has been registered against a gang that was cheating innocent people by offering them loans through double registration documents and false registrations even though they do not have lands.

Recently, with the decrease in land sales in the city, the fraudsters, who have become accustomed to illegal earnings, were creating fake documents for expensive lands. Cases were registered against the accused Sheikh Bade Saheb of Mathura Nagar area and Kothapalli Venkateswarlu and Tipparti Ashok Kumar (revenue inspector) of Patharlapadu in Chintakani mandal for doing real estate business with fake documents, the CI said.

Several land registration documents were seized from them and an in-depth investigation would be conducted into the new type of racketeering case, he added.

Similarly, cases were registered against nine persons at Konijerla police station for carrying out as many as 64 illegal registrations of lands of a local real estate venture. The registrations took place last December and following directions from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) the cases were booked after some individuals lodged a complaint with the CMO regarding the issue.
