Telangana: Gang stealing batteries, diesel from Jio mobile towers busted in Siddipet
Siddipet police arrested five members of a gang for stealing batteries and diesel from Jio mobile towers across Telangana. They recovered 18 batteries, ₹3.01 lakh, and vehicles. Six others remain absconding as police continue the investigation

Siddipet: Siddipet police have arrested five members of an inter-district gang involved in multiple thefts of batteries and diesel from Jio mobile towers across Telangana. The police recovered 18 batteries, Rs 3.01 lakh in cash earned through the sale of stolen material, two four-wheelers, an auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle from their possession.
The arrested were identified as Bathula Guru Swamy, Bathula Sairam, Alakunta Laxman Rao, Alakunta Shankar, and Bathula Sinu. Six others, Bandari Srinivas, Putta Anjaneyulu, Shilasagaram Ramachandram, Nune Mahendar, Md Hazeem, and Jogi Yadi, are absconding.
Commissioner of Police SM Vijay Kumar said the accused targeted Jio mobile towers across the State, stealing 28 batteries and 4,899 litres of diesel from several sites. He added that the gang members had earlier been involved in thefts of vehicle batteries. Based on a complaint filed at Thoguta Police Station, the police launched an investigation and cracked the case.
