Khammam: BRS working president K T Rama Rao has directed the party cadres and leaders to work with people in fighting against the Congress misrule and get ready for the ensuing local body elections. He asserted that BRS was the only party that works for the welfare of Telangana people and the development of the State. The Congress party which came to power with false promises during Assembly elections has failed the State on many fronts.

Many welfare schemes like KCR Kits, Kalyana Lakshmi/Shadi Mubarak, Rythu Bandhu, Aasara pensions and others introduced by previous BRS government were halted by the Congress government, Rama Rao alleged addressing gathering at Mittapalli of Tallada mandal in the district on Friday. He unveiled the statue of a BRS leader late Rayala Sheshagiri Rao at the village where he was given a grand welcome by the party cadres and leaders.

Even as there were three ministers in Khammam they did nothing for the district’s growth. The farmers were at the receiving end as paddy brought to the procurement centres was not bought. Deputy Chief Minister Vikramarka presented bond papers to the public promising to deliver six guarantees within 100 days of coming to power, but in vain, he noted.

Rama Rao said that the government was likely to hold local body elections in June or July. The BRS should show its strength in the elections. There was a chance of conducting a bye-election to Bhadrachalam Assembly seat and party cadres should work hard to win the seat, he suggested.

Former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao during Assembly elections clearly told the public not to trust Congress party. The public who wanted a change should observe what kind of change the Congress government brought in their lives.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was the most bankrupt minded Chief Minister. It was sad that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was telling the public that he was treated as a thief when he went to Delhi seeking financial assistance, Rama Rao noted.

MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, BRS district president Tata Madhusudhan, former ministers Vanama Venkateswara Rao and Puvvada Ajay Kumar, ex-MLAs S Venkata Veeraiah, K Upender Reddy and others were present.
