Telangana: Girl child born on RTC bus in Gadwal gets free lifetime travel

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) management announced a lifetime free bus pass to a girl child who was born on the bus in Gadwal.
Appreciating the staff of the bus for taking care of the pregnant woman, Managing Director VC Sajjanar felicitated them at the Bus Bhavan on Wednesday. Previously, a decision was taken by the management to give lifetime free bus passes to the children born in RTC buses and bus stations.
On January 2, a pregnant woman from Raichur who boarded the bus to Gadwal developed labour pain. The bus conductor, Kishore Kumar and driver Narender Goud, halted the vehicle and immediately called the ambulance.
With the help of medical staff and other women passengers, the woman safely delivered a girl child in the bus. Later, she was admitted to the hospital.
Other RTC employees who were felicitated and rewarded for their alertness and dutifulness include Koteswara Rao, bus driver from Manuguru bus depot who helped a woman passenger in recovering her gold chain which was stolen by another passenger in the bus in December 2024.
Also felicitated was Jagityal bus depot Deputy Manager Sunitha who with the help of bus staff saved the life of a passenger who suffered a heart attack on a moving bus in January this year.
