Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Saturday announced half-day timings for the Urdu medium schools, Urdu medium sections of parallel medium schools and Urdu medium sections of DIETs in the State during Ramzan month.

The State government issued an order changing the school timings with new timings being 8 am to 1.30 pm from March 2 to April 1 (both days inclusive).

The government took this decision after teachers of Urdu medium schools, Urdu medium sections of parallel medium schools and Urdu medium sections of DIETs sought change of school timings to half-a-day during Ramzan 2025.

According to a press release, TMREIS vice-chairman and president, Mohammed Faheemuddin Qureshi took up the matter with the government for change of school timing during Ramzan 2025, enabling the teachers and students to devote more time for offering prayers.
