Hyderabad: In response to widespread crop damage caused by hailstorms and unseasonal rains over the past two months, the State government has sanctioned Rs 51.528 crore to compensate affected farmers.

The decision follows an assessment by the Agriculture Department.

According to the survey reports, crop damage involved 51,528 acres, impacting 41,361 farmers across 29 districts.

Orders have been issued to conduct detailed surveys to facilitate the direct transfer of compensation funds into the bank accounts of affected farmers.

Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao instructed officials to coordinate with relevant departments to ensure the swift disbursement of the sanctioned amount.
