Telangana: Government school teachers to report for duty from June 25

Hyderabad: Teachers working in government schools should report for duty from June 25, Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy said here on Monday. Speaking to the media after a meeting with Education Department officials, the Minister said as per GO 46, private schools should collect only tuition fees this academic year as well. A meeting would be held with the managements of private educational institutions in a day or two in this regard.

Accordingly, the School Education Department issued a circular directing all teachers of government, model schools, KGBVs, TREIS, government-aided and DIET colleges to attend their respective schools and colleges from June 25.

As per GO 46, which was issued for the academic year 2020-21 and applicable for this academic year as well, private schools should not increase their fees and should charge only tuition fee on a monthly basis. The results of Intermediate second-year would be announced next week, she said, adding that a decision on conducting classes for high school and Intermediate would be taken after consulting the Welfare Ministers. Physical classes for degree, PG and engineering courses would commence from July 1, the Minister added.

The School Education Department has proposed to start physical classes for Classes 8, 9 and 10 from July 1 and it will function from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. In the case of Classes 6 and 7, it was proposed from July 20 and for Classes 3, 4 and 5 from August 16. However, a firm decision on the reopening of schools is yet to be taken by the State government.
