Hyderabad: BJP MLA M Raghunandan Rao on Saturday accused the State government of failing to give ample time to discuss various issues during the monsoon session of the State Assembly, which was adjourned sine die on Friday. Addressing a press conference here, the BJP MLA alleged the MIM, with seven MLAs, got two and a half hours to discuss minorities’ welfare issues. “I requested to give at least 20 minutes to discuss issues as our party have two MLAs but it was turned down,” he said.
He urged the government not to suppress the voice of opposition members during the next Assembly session and give ample time to discuss issues. He demanded the government release a white paper on total funds allocated to each Assembly constituency in the State since 2014.
The MLA found fault with the government for failing to invite the BJP to Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting on the pretext that the party has only two MLAs. He said the members were not ready to listen to true criticism in the House. He added that his party was seeking legal opinion on moving a privilege motion against the government for giving misleading information.
