Cabinet meeting: Telangana government to form Future City Development Authority

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to constitute Future City Development Authority (FCDA) for the development of the Future City between Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam highways, covering about 30,000 acres in seven mandals and 56 villages.
A decision to this effect was taken in the Cabinet meeting held here on Thursday. Briefing about the Cabinet decisions, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the HMDA jurisdiction has also been extended to the Regional Ring Road. The new extended area would cover 1,355 villages and 104 mandals in 11 districts. In the new expanded area, there will be 332 revenue villages.
An all-party meeting would be held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and former Minister K Jana Reddy over the injustice being meted out to southern States in the proposed delimitation of parliament constituencies, he said.
The State Cabinet has approved the draft Bill for SC sub-classification and extending 42 per cent reservations to BCs in local bodies, education and employment as well.
Under the Indira Mahila Shakthi Mission, 2025 policy has been approved by the Cabinet. All women Self-Help Groups will now be brought under one umbrella.
In the past, the retirement age in Mahila Shakthi Sanghams was 60, which has been increased to 65 years. Likewise, the eligibility to become members of SHGs was 18 years and the same has been cut down to 15.
On par with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Board, the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple will have a similar board. Accordingly, a few amendments have been made in different Acts.
The Cabinet has also decided to approve a Tourism Policy from 2025-30. Under the new policy, comprehensive development of 27 tourist destinations has been approved, besides initiating measures for drawing a minimum of Rs 15,000 crore investments.
The Cabinet also approved to host Miss World competitions to be held in May 2025 and make elaborate arrangements for participants arriving from 140 countries.
Appointment of Revenue Officers (Grama Palana Officer) for 10,954 revenue villages has been permitted. The services of all eligible VRA and VAOs would be utilised as per the decision.
Likewise, 361 posts have been approved for the new revenue divisions and mandals, besides 330 regular and 165 outsourcing posts have been approved for residential schools society.
In view of submergence of many villages under the Gandamalla reservoir, the capacity has been cut down from 4.28 tmc to 1.41 tmc.
BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the Cabinet had approved the draft Bill for facilitating 42 per cent reservations to BCs. The reservations would be provided in local bodies, education and job opportunities.
The past decision to extend 37 per cent reservations to BC would be recalled, he added.
