Telangana Governor praises North East Connect sports initiative
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma praised the Telangana–North East Connect initiative, stressing the importance of continuous sports and cultural programmes to strengthen ties between Telangana and the North-Eastern states
Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma lauded the Telangana–North East Connect initiative to promote sports across the two regions in a big way.
Releasing a special report on Thursday in the presence of Sports Authority of Telangana chairman K Shiva Sena Reddy and VC & MD Sonibala Devi, Varma said that continuous sports and cultural programmes were essential to further strengthen relations between Telangana and the North-Eastern states.
The Governor emphasised that organising such programmes on a large scale would help build strong ties between the North-Eastern states, which have rich sports and cultural traditions, and Hyderabad city and Telangana state, which offer numerous opportunities.
He also appreciated the efforts of officials and staff from various departments for making the Telangana–North East India Connect programme and the sports festival organised on the occasion a success.
