Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao here on Monday said the State government was according priority for the welfare and development of the women in the State.

Participating as a chief guest at an event organized by the Transmission Corporation of Telangana and Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited in connection with International Women’s Day, he said all the welfare schemes were introduced in the name of women in the State.


He described the Energy department’s move to recruit 217 women as line women as historic. Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy, who was also present at the event, said the women were playing a crucial role in the present competitive world and competing on par with the men. He recalled how Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubharak scheme was benefiting many families.

TSTransco CMD D Prabhakar Rao and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
