Telangana: Govt. degree contract lecturers protest at Praja Bhavan demanding regularisation of their services

The protesters said the previous BRS government regularised 270 degree contract lecturers in the first phase and another 61 in the second phase

Hyderabad: Demanding the Congress government regularise their services, the government degree contract lecturers staged a protest at Praja Bhavan here on Friday.

The protesters said the previous BRS government regularised 270 degree contract lecturers in the first phase and another 61 in the second phase. While 154 persons’ services were to be regularised in the third phase, it was postponed due to the assembly elections in the State, they said.

A police enquiry was already conducted and certificates were verified thrice, they said, adding that despite all their certificates including the PhD were correct the list of 154 candidates was still pending with the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education.

The degree lecturers said they have been running from pillar to post seeking their regularisation for the last 10 months. They demanded the Congress government to fulfil its promise.

Stating that they have been holding classes besides enrolling admissions in the peak summer season for the last 24 years, the lecturers said their efforts yielded positive results with good admissions.
