Jagtial: Jagtial MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar said on Sunday that the State government was giving top priority for the development of villages in the State.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for CC roads and drainage lines in Jagtial town, Chelgal and Thatipalli villages, Sanjay Kumar said that both development and welfare activities have been taken up simultaneously after the formation of Telangana State.
As part of welfare programmes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, 24-hour power supply, pensions, KCR kits, pension to toddy tappers and weaving communities, supply of fine variety rice to government schools, fee reimbursement, Kalyana Lakshmi and other schemes were introduced, spending crores of rupees, he said.
“Earlier, funds were confined to towns. However, the situation has changed after the formation of Telangana. Funds for laying of roads, construction of community halls, association buildings, palle pragathi, graveyards, compost shed and others have been sanctioned,” he said.
Giving top priority to education, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao established gurukulam schools, medical colleges and palle davakanas. Quality education and health facilities are going to be provided to the poor and middle class people in the coming future, he added.
Sanjay Kumar said that Jagtial has become a center point as all government offices were established here following the announcement of the town as district headquarters. Poor people are going to get quality treatment with the establishment of a medical college in the town, he said and added that an integrated market in two acres of land would be developed with Rs 4 crore in the near future.
