Hyderabad: State government on Friday accorded administrative sanction for Rs 462.5 crore and Rs 150 crore towards meeting expenditure under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes respectively.
Backward Classes Welfare Department Principal Secretary B Venkatesham said the Commissioner of Backward Classes Welfare Department should take necessary action with respect to Kalyana Lakshmi as per instructions issued by Finance Department.
Meanwhile, the Director of Minorities Welfare Department was authorised to disburse the amount sanctioned under Shaadi Mubarak scheme for implementing agencies and also to furnish the utilisation certificates within stipulated time.
Minorities Welfare Secretary Ahmad Nadeem said a request was made to the director of treasuries and accounts to issue authorisation duly authorising the Director of Minorities Welfare for the amount.
The State government introduced Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes to help parents who struggle to perform their daughter’s marriage. Under the schemes, the government gives Rs 1,00,116 assistance to perform marriage.
An amount of Rs 2,750 crore was proposed in budget estimates 2021-22 for the schemes.
