Hyderabad: Forest department Special Chief Secretary A Shanti Kumari on Saturday asked the officials to convene a coordination meeting on Monday with the officials concerned and finalise priority proposals for onward submission to the government by February 15. The State government is seeking forest and wildlife clearances pertaining to 181 roads of union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Left Wing Extremists (LWE) areas and highways of R&B among others.
At a review meeting with Forest and Roads and Buildings (R&B) department officials, Shanti Kumari asked the officials to immediately attend to shortcomings of proposals so that key projects can be forwarded to the head office for perusal. “The budget allocated to the State may be lapsed, if the projects are not completed in a time-bound manner,” she said.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) (HoFF) R Sobha said some proposals were pending for want of Recognition of Forest Rights (RoFR) certificate and identification of non-forest CA land and furnishing of proposals in WL format wherever applicable.
“If these are furnished, the department will process them immediately and forwarded to government,” she said.
According to Sobha, payments are pending for certain proposals and mutation and transfer of CA lands are pending. If these are attended and compliance report is furnished, the department will forward the same to the government for according final approval.
In case of repairs and maintenance of roads and making dirt track made up of mud to black-topped roads constructed prior to 1980, a detailed procedure need not be followed.
