Mahabubnagar: Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud said the State government will implement Dalit Bandhu scheme at any cost and wanted the ZPTCs and MPTCs to create awareness among farmers in cultivating alternative crops.

Addressing Zilla Parishad General Body meeting on Tuesday, he said that since the Central government has decided not to procure paddy, elected public representatives should promote crop diversification. “The government will not set up paddy procurement centres in Yasangi and farmers should take up cultivation of alternative crops,” the Minister said.

From Tuesday, Rythu Bandhu assistance was being deposited into farmers’ accounts across the State. Even during the Covid pandemic, Telangana government extended Rythu Bandhu assistance to farmers. ZPTCs and MPPs should inform people about the development done so far and achievements of the State government since last seven years, the Minister said. ZPTCs and MPPs should bring any issues to the notice of the Zilla Parishad and ensure they are addressed at the earliest, he said.
