Telangana govt working for welfare of poor: Gangula

Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister, Gangula Kamalakar informed that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was extending support to the poor women like a brother and marriage aged ladies as maternal uncle. The Minister distributed Kalyana lakshmi cheques to beneficiaries in a programme held in the Collectorate auditorium here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar said that the state government was helping the poor women by implementing Kalyana lakshmi and Shaadi Mubharak schemes in the state. Schemes were not stopped even during Covid pandemic, he informed.
Free rice, free current to agriculture sector, gurukulam schools to provide quality education to poor students, supply of drinking and irrigable water by completing Kaleshwaram project, giving Rs 12,000 to lactating women under KCR kit and other schemes have been implemented by the Chief Minister. State government was working for the welfare of poor and downtrodden sections.
Earlier, the Minister laid the foundation for CC road in 46th division. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said as promised to the local people, Karimnagar town was being developed on all fronts. Town took the development path after the formation of Telangana state and Chandrashekhar Rao took charge as Chief Minister.
Chandrashekhar Rao, who has special affection for Karimnagar town, was allocating funds for the development of the town. All basic facilities including CC roads, drainages, parks, graveyards, integrated parks and others were being taken up across the town with CM assurance and pattana pragathi funds.
In order to develop Karimnagar as a famous tourism destination, Cable Bridge and Manair River Front Project were taken up, he said and informed to ready the cable bridge for inauguration by completing all pending works by June. Informing to start MRF works very soon, he said that they have fixed a target to complete works in 18 months. Magical fountain to be developed as part of MRF would bring more attraction to the town. Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao, deputy mayor Challa Swaroopa Rani, corporators and others participated in the programme.
