Telangana GT-JAC demands all promotions for teachers in government schools

The GTA said since the Supreme Court and High Court struck down the common services rules, the government school assistants should be promoted to posts of junior lecturers, DIET lecturers, deputy educational officers and mandal education officers

Hyderabad: The Government Teachers Joint Action Committee (GT-JAC) demanded the State government provide promotions in the education department to teachers working in the government management only.

Since the Supreme Court and High Court struck down the common services rules, the government school assistants should be promoted to posts of junior lecturers, DIET lecturers, deputy educational officers and mandal education officers, the GT-JAC said.


The Local Cadre Government Teachers Association and Government Teachers Association Telangana here on Thursday have come together and formed GT-JAC to fight for issues of teachers of the government management. Mamidoju Veerachary was appointed as chairman of the committee, while Bindla Narasimha and Y Nalini as co-chairman.

According to Veerachary, as per the 73rd Constitutional amendment made by the Congress government led by PV Narasimha Rao, all Zilla Parishad (ZP) Teachers should be assigned to ZP only. He wanted strict implementation of the Panchayat.
