Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Unable to bear the alleged harassment by heralcoholic husband, a woman poisoned his drink leading to his death in Thakkallapalli village here. The woman, Puppala Rajitha was arrested on Friday on charges of murdering her husband Satish, police said.

The bizarre story unfolded on Thursday, when Rajitha allegedly laced her husband’s drink with a pesticide. Satish who did not notice this gulped down the liquor laced with pesticide and died subsequently. Symptoms of poisoning were very much visible as Satish began vomiting and developed froth at his mouth.

However, the fact that his drink was laced with pesticide came to light as one of the neighbours, Gajula Sandeep, noticed Rajitha adding the pesticide to liquor. Police intervened after the man’s mother lodged a complaint.

In the preliminiary interrogations, Rajitha was reported to have confessed to the crime. She reportedly told the police that Satish got addicted to liquor and was harassing her continuously. Unable to bear the harassment, she decided to do away with him some months ago.

Rebbena inspector Budde Swamy is investigating the case.
