Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on the Congress government for its failure to pay salaries for months together, BRS leader and former Minister T. Harish Rao on Saturday said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was making false promises in Delhi while employees and workers in the fold of different government wings were left struggling without salaries under his administration.

Highlighting the plight of workers, including the staff of gram panchayats who were not paid for four months, MGNREGS employees who have been waiting for three months, and municipal sanitation workers who haven’t received their salaries for a month, he said thousands of small employees, including field assistants, technical assistants, and APOs in MGNREGS, have been making requests in writing for timely payment of their salaries.

Despite the dire situation in almost all districts, the government has shown no concern. Families are facing financial issues and running into debts due to the delayed salaries.

The employees are anxiously waiting for their payments, he said while urging the government to focus on governance instead of making trips to Delhi and boasting about bringing in investments worth thousands of crores. He demanded that the government pay all employees their salaries on time.
