Hyderabad: Justice K Sarath of the Telangana High Court on Thursday admitted a writ petition filed by the management of Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Koti, challenging a closure notice issued by the Deputy Educational Officer. The notice, issued in June this year, directed the private educational institution to shut down its operations with immediate effect.
The petitioner contended that the impugned action was arbitrary, illegal, and violative of constitutional rights, including the right to practise any profession and the right to education. The counsel for the petitioner contended that the authorities acted without due process or valid justification, resulting in severe consequences for the institution, its staff, and the hundreds of students already enrolled for the academic year 2025–26.
The petitioner sought a declaration that the closure notice is unconstitutional and requested a direction to the authorities to grant necessary permissions for the school to continue operations for the current academic year.
The Government Pleader appearing for the respondents sought time to obtain instructions. The matter will be heard further after the response is filed.
