Hyderabad: In an unprecedented and harsh criticism of the functioning of the HYDRAA and the Telangana government, the Telangana High Court has asked the Indian army to deploy personnel to protect a private disputed property, while observing that it has lost faith in the State government and its departments.

Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti of the Telangana High Court said the court was aware that the Army should not be involved in such matters, but the order was being given as the court had lost faith in the State. He was dealing with a contempt petition filed by Shanta Sriram Constructions alleging that the HYDRAA was illegally interfering in their property at Lothkunta in Secunderabad.

The judge also directed that appropriate action should be taken by the Army, if any representative of the HYDRAA or police or any other official entered the premises. The Registrar General of the high court was ordered to get in touch with the highest Army official in the city to get some personnel posted at the site.

The court did not agree with the argument of the Additional Advocate General refuting the allegations against Hydraa entered the property and referred to the photographs produced by the petitioner which showed the Hydraa vehicles in the land.
