Hyderabad: The two judge panel of the Telangana High Court comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavali on Friday imposed a cost of Rs. 10 lakhs to Nandi Chinni Kumar who sought court interference on release of movie Jhund starring Amitabh Bachchan.
The movie based on the life of football coach, Akhilesh Paul was sought to be stayed stating that petitioner has rights over the story.
On finding that petitioner has not disclosed the settlement arrived before District court, the panel imposed cost of Rs 10 lakh to be paid to the PM relief fund within 30 days. In case petitioners failed to do so, the District Collector of Hyderabad shall collect the same as arrears with 30 days after the expiry of time granted, the panel observed. Accordingly, the panel dismissed the case.
