Hyderabad: Justice J Sreedevi of Telangana High Court will hear a quash petition filed by Radha Kishan Rao, the accused in the phone tapping case on Monday. The petition was filed by Radha Kishan seeking quashing of a subsequent FIR filed against him.
The FIR states that Radha Kishan Rao, BRS MLA T Harish Rao, and others were allegedly involved in tapping the phone of Gadhagoni Chakradhar, a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party.
The petitioner contended that the case was registered just by relying on the statements of Gadhagoni Chakradhar recorded in the case. The petition states that the FIR was filed only to languish the petitioner in prison who already spent 10 months in jail and that the allegations in the FIR were already dealt with before the High Court before granting him bail.
The petition further states that the FIR was registered due to political vendetta and with the sole intention of denying him bail in the case.
