Telangana HC to issue orders on Gali Janardhan Reddy’s case tomorrow
The cases of Afzal Ali Khan and Rahul Gandhi, Navjot Singh Sidhu were referred with regard to cancellation of Legislative Assembly membership.

Hyderabad: Justice K. Lakshman of the Telangana High Court reserved for orders the case filed by Gali Janardhan Reddy, member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. The order will be pronounced on Wednesday.
The case pertains to Obulapuram Mining Company wherein Janardhan Reddy and three others were sentenced to seven years of imprisonment by the CBI special Court. Janardhan Reddy, BV Srinivasa Reddy, VD Rajagopal (IAS, Retd.) and Mehafus Ali Khan had approached the High Court seeking suspension of the jail sentence.
Senior Advocates B. Nalin Kumar and Nagamuthu represented the petitioners. The counsels argued that petitioners had already undergone three and a half years of imprisonment and sought suspension stating that Janardhan Reddy’s membership as legislator would be revoked.
Secretary, Karnataka Legislative Assembly had already issued a notification to cancel his membership. Further it was argued that if election notification is released for filling the post, the petitioner would suffer irreparable loss.
The counsels said they would make detailed arguments with all proofs during the appeal hearing. The cases of Afzal Ali Khan and Rahul Gandhi, Navjot Singh Sidhu were referred with regard to cancellation of Legislative Assembly membership.
Hearing all parties at length Justice Lakshman has reserved the case and directed to post the matter on Wednesday for pronouncement for orders.
