Hyderabad: The High Court has granted permission for the Rythu Maha Dharna by the BRS in Nalgonda, to be held from 11 am to 2 pm on January 28. BRS working president KT Rama Rao will participate in the Maha Dharna at Clock Tower Centre.

Initially planned for January 20, the Maha Dharna faced a setback when the police denied permission. Following this, the BRS approached the High Court. Meanwhile, municipal authorities reportedly removed banners, BRS flags and festoons, leading to tensions. BRS activists staged a protest at the municipal office, where former MLA K. Bhupal Reddy came under attack by Congress leaders.

The confrontation escalated, resulting in a physical altercation between BRS and Congress members. Bhupal Reddy, who was injured during the scuffle, lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police, demanding action against the Congress leaders involved.
