Hyderabad: Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court has granted relief to Hotel Metropolis, suspending its seizure following a writ petition filed by Abdul Rashid, the hotel’s proprietor.
The case centres around allegations made against Rashid, who contends that the police are trying to implicate him in a criminal incident involving an individual who allegedly disturbed a deity at a nearby temple.
The police claim the accused stayed at the hotel prior to the incident, prompting the seizure due to purported law and order concerns.
Senior Counsel L. Ravichander, representing Rashid, argued that the hotel operates with a valid trade license and had merely facilitated a personality development course by renting out its conference hall and 50 rooms.
He emphasized that there is no legitimate connection between the temple incident and the hotel’s business activities.
Further hearings on the matter were adjourned by two weeks.
