Hyderabad: Justice K Lakshman of the Telangana High Court on Monday issued notices to the State and a security guard, Gyara Upender, in a case filed by BJP MP Eatala Rajendar.

The criminal petition was filed seeking quashing of an FIR registered at PS Pocharam, IT Corridor, Rachakonda.

The complaint was filed by a security guard, Gyara Upender, against Rajendar and others for allegedly slapping him and provoking people at Ekasila Nagar in Ghatkesar.

The petitioner’s counsel argued that the petitioner was falsely implicated in the case just to damage his reputation.

As the petitioner was attacked and provoked by the complainant and in private defence, the petitioner had to push the complainant aside, the counsel added.

By using the FIR, the judge wondered how Section 191 of BNS was attracted without there being any arms in the hands of the petitioner while issuing notice.

The judge posted the matter to February 18 for hearing the response of State and the complainant.
