HYDERABAD: Telangana High Court suspended the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s orders banning six State cricketers on alleged grounds of submission of fake documents.

The affected players were Chirag Yadav, Anudeep Javaji, Shiva Rama Krishna, Shashank Malhotra, Aditya Javaji and Rishiket Sisodia.

The players claimed that the HCA had banned them last season without providing an opportunity for an explanation as a natural justice, and had not sent any show cause notice.

“The concerned HCA officials have gone all out by breaking the rules & regulations of HCA bylaws for wrong reasons, only to ensure to throw the talented & performing players out of the system,” the suspended players argued.

“Surprisingly, without any approval from the APEX council, to intentionally delay the process of enquiry so that the players can be kept out throughout the tournament, a request of enquiry was sent to the Police which falls outside of the jurisdiction of HCA office location & address of selective players,” the players claimed. “It has taken 50 days to submit the enquiry report to HCA which meant only after the completion of both the State U-19 tournaments such as Vinoo Mankad Tournament & Cooch Behar Tournament,” they pointed out.

“After the BCCI Tournaments were over, HCA sent a mail to the players in the wee hours of November 14, confirming the ban on the players against whom the parents of selected players have approached the Honorable High Court for Justice,” it is informed.

“After scrutinising all the submitted documents by the players and hearing the arguments from both the parties such as HCA, BCCI & Petitioner’s Advocate, the High Court issued orders in favor of the players to withdraw the ban imposed on the players and to include them in all the upcoming tournaments conducted by HCA & BCCI,” it is informed.

“Overall, it clearly confirms that the petitioner has been deprived of the rightful opportunities and has been targeted clearly by the concerned HCA authorities with wrong intentions,” the players said.

Telangana Cricket Association general secretary D Guruva Reddy said that the suspension of these cricketers was more because of a personal agenda by the HCA.

“All other associations nurture players’ careers, but HCA is into spoiling careers. As per HCA bylaws, players are major stakeholders of the association. Fact is, they are commodities of commission and omissions,” he said.

“The HCA after the 2023 elections created a mess all over, destroying players’ careers,” the TCA official said.
