Telangana High Court tells Balija Kapu organisation not to build on land allotted for community bhavan
Petitioner filed public interest litigation case challenging actions of Revenue Land Administration Department and others for allotting six acres 35 guntas at Khanamet village in Serilingampally mandal to the organisation for a community bhavan at Rs 100 per acre
Hyderabad: A two-judge Bench of Telangana High Court, comprising acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice Renuka Yara, on Monday directed the Viswa Balija Kapu Thelaga Vontari Thurpukapu Sangala Samakya not to carry out any construction activity on the land allotted to them for building a community bhavan.
The petitioner filed the public interest litigation case challenging the actions of the Revenue Land Administration Department and others for issuing GO Ms. No. 87 on August 2, 2023, wherein six acres 35 guntas of prime land in survey no. 41/14 situated at Khanamet village, Serilingampally mandal, was allotted to the organisation for the construction of a community bhavan at a price of Rs 100 per acre.
The government’s action in giving possession has also been challenged. The counsel for the petitioner argued that the GO was in violation of the law and sought to stay the proceedings under the said GO by granting status quo on the allotted land.
Recalling the stay in GO 47 issued on June 30, 2021, in a similar case, the Bench issued interim directions and adjourned the matter to March 7.
