Telangana higher education reforms need effective implementation: TGCHE chief

Hyderabad: Telangana Council of Higher Education Chairman Prof. V Balakista Reddy on Thursday stressed the need to modernise institutional infrastructure, raise educational standards and ensure the effective implementation of higher education reforms.

He participated in the three-day 15th national conference on the “Status of Higher Education” organised by the All India University Employees’ Confederation (AIUEC) on the Osmania University (OU) campus here.

Organised by the OU NGO’s Association, OU Staff Association and OU Technical Staff Association, the summit brought together nearly 400 national delegates and more than 1,000 participants from university staff bodies across India.

OU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram highlighted the indispensable role of universities in nation-building. He commended the host service associations and non-teaching workforce for maintaining operational excellence and driving the day-to-day functioning of the university.

TGCHE Secretary Sriram Venkatesh called for active inter-departmental synergy and workforce adaptability in response to evolving administrative policies.

Arts College Principal Prof. Kasseem urged a substantial increase in budgetary allocations for the education sector to ensure sustainable development and adequate resources.

The conference will continue through September 12, featuring specialised technical sessions on policy changes, administrative reforms, research expansion and employee service matters.
