Telangana Horticultural varsity to organise conference on climate change and horticulture
Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University will host a national conference on climate change and horticulture on September 18–19. Experts from ICAR, IMD, and across sectors will discuss climate impacts, mitigation strategies, and support systems for farmers

Hyderabad: Sri Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University is set to organise a national conference on ‘Climate Change and Horticulture: Impacts, Adaptation and Mitigation Strategies’ on the university campus on September 18 and 19.
The conference will focus mainly on climate change and extreme events: impacts on horticulture crops and their pollinators; Methodologies for impact assessment including crop modelling; vulnerability adaptation and mitigation strategies: socio-economic constraints in adoption of climate smart horticultural practices, and policy and financial support to farmers to cope with multiple climate risks.
Policy makers, meteorologists, eminent scientists, researchers and academicians across countries, ICAR, IMD officials, industry experts, and farmer groups from different States will present latest findings on climate change along with mitigating strategies that would help farmers.
