Telangana hosts India’s first Sports Hackathon to drive innovation in athletics
Hyderabad hosted the country’s first Sports Hackathon, organised with Telangana government support. Over 2,000 participants registered, with 20 innovators shortlisted to pitch ideas aimed at solving athletes’ fitness and technical challenges through technology and sports innovation.

Hyderabad: The country’s first-ever Sports Hackathon, organized with the support of the Telangana Government, commenced here on Saturday.
The two-day event, hosted by the Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA), began on Saturday at the Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli.
Speaking on the occasion, TITA President Makthala Sandeep Kumar said that competitions are being conducted across 24 sports disciplines, including basketball, fencing, kabaddi, badminton, powerlifting, and athletics.
He stated that the objective of the Sports Hackathon is to analyze the fitness, physical, and technical challenges faced by athletes and explore how technology can offer effective solutions to these issues.
More than 2,000 participants registered for the event. After a rigorous evaluation process, 20 innovators were shortlisted and given an opportunity to present their concepts before the jury in a one-minute pitch format.
He added that the ultimate goal is to take Telangana as a leading Sports Innovation Hub in India.
