Hyderabad: The Telangana Human Rights Commission (THRC) on Tuesday took suo-motu cognizance of the deaths of five people due to electrocution at Ramanthapur and directed the Chairman and Managing Director of TGSPDCL to submit a report.
THRC Chairperson Dr Justice Shameem Akhter asked the Managing Director to provide a comprehensive report on the incident by September 29. The report should cover the cause of the incident, accountability of officials, immediate remedial actions, compensation and rehabilitation for the victims’ families, and long-term preventive safety measures.
