Telangana integrates TGSRTC into MeeTicket platform
Telangana has integrated TGSRTC into the MeeSeva-powered MeeTicket platform, enabling commuters to apply and renew bus passes digitally. Officials said the State is the first in the country to offer such a unified, QR-based public transport ticketing system.
Hyderabad: Telangana’s MeeSeva-powered MeeTicket platform on Friday integrated TGSRTC into its unified digital ticketing system to issue bus passes through a government mobile application.
Officials stated that Telangana is the first State in the country to extend such a service. MeeTicket, the flagship digital ticketing initiative under the MeeSeva e-governance framework, enables commuters to apply, pay for and receive city bus passes and inter-city tickets entirely through the app without visiting physical depots or counters. No additional booking charges are levied beyond the fare or pass fee prescribed by TGSRTC.
Each pass carries a dynamic QR code that refreshes on every use, a live validity indicator and screenshot-blocking features designed to prevent duplication and ensure tamper-proof verification in real time. Conductors can validate passes instantly on board, eliminating manual checks and reducing delays.
Renewals can be completed within the app itself, removing the need to visit depots and significantly reducing pressure on service counters across 221 locations and 190 active service points. “This is about creating a seamless, citizen-centric mobility system with transparency and ease of access,” said T Ravi Kiran, Commissioner, Electronic Services Delivery.
Five pass categories are currently available: Ordinary, Metro Deluxe, Metro Express, Green Metro Luxury and Pushpak AC. Concessional passes for students and senior citizens, a significant segment of TGSRTC’s daily ridership, are expected to be added in a subsequent phase as per TGSRTC norms, officials said.
