Hyderabad: The English practical examination has ended up clashing with the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 schedule. While the first-year and second-year English practical exams are scheduled for January 21 and 22 respectively, the JEE Main 2026 first session will be conducted between January 21 and 30.
However, students need not worry about this overlap. The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) will make necessary alternative arrangements for students whose exams fall on the same day.
The practical exams for science streams will be conducted from February 2 to 21, including Sundays, in two sessions — from 9 am to 12 noon and from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Prior to the practical exams, the Board has scheduled the Environmental Education exam on January 24, while the Ethics and Human Values exam for backlog candidates only will be conducted on January 23.
As reported earlier, the Intermediate Public Examinations for the general stream will begin with the first-year exams on February 25, followed by second-year exams on February 26. Exams for major subjects will conclude on March 13 and minor subjects on March 18. The same dates are applicable for the intermediate vocational courses; however, a separate timetable will be issued by the Board.
Telangana increases intermediate exam fees for 2026 session
The State government has increased the examination fee for intermediate students. For first-year arts and science students, the fee has been revised from Rs 520 to Rs 530. In addition, an English practical fee of Rs 100 has been introduced, taking the total exam fee to Rs 630.
Similarly, second-year arts students have to pay Rs 630 as their exam fee. However, second-year science and vocational students need to pay Rs 870, which includes Rs 530 for theory, Rs 240 for science practicals, and Rs 100 for English practicals.
The last date to pay the exam fee without a late fee at the respective colleges is November 14. With a late fee of Rs 100, colleges will accept exam fees between November 16 and 24.
