Hyderabad: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) is expected to release the intermediate public examinations’ results on or before April 12. Accordingly, the Board on Tuesday concluded the evaluation work of 56 lakh answer scripts at 20 spot evaluation camps established across the State.

According to the TGBIE sources, OMR sheets scanning will be carried out in the next couple of days. Following this, the Centre for Good Governance (CGG) will process the results.

“Initially, we thought to complete the spot evaluation camps by March 25 and accordingly scheduled the results in the first week of April. But, the camps have been extended till March 31. Now, after scanning the OMR sheets, the CGG will take about a week’s time to process the results. We are expecting the results to be declared on April 9 or maximum by April 12,” sources said.

A total of 9,97,075 students, including 4,89,126 first year and 5,07,949 second year, registered for exams conducted from February 25 to March 18 in 1,495 centres set up across the State.

Like last year, answer scripts, particularly of the candidates who scored lowest marks i.e. zero marks, were scrutinised. Under this exercise, the spot evaluation camp officials – examiners and scrutinizers – were given four slabs – 0 to 10 marks, 25-35 marks, 50-60 marks and 90-100 marks – for re-verification of the answer scripts. This was done to ensure that there were no discrepancies in the results.
