Warangal: The Task Force sleuths along with the Dharmasagar police busted a gang of inter-state drug peddlers with the arrest of two gang members. They seized 574 kgs of dry ganja worth around Rs 57.47 lakhs from them, according to a Task Force press note on Wednesday. The arrested were Ahmad Khan and Jadhav Tukaram of Bidar, who are said to be ‘transporters’ of the gang. They were nabbed near Dharmasagar village on March 7 and the contraband seized from their possession.

The accused Ahmad Khan and Jadhav Tukaram, who were transporting poultry products from Bidar to Rajahmundry in their lorry (TS 12 UC 7054), loaded the eucalyptus wood at Koyyur village to transport to Bidar after unloading the poultry products.

Meanwhile, Santosh and Kashinath called Ahmad khan and asked the duo to bring the dry ganja by placing them bags in the middle of wooden poles in the lorry from the outskirts of the Chintur. Seven other members of the gang -Rathod Kasinath, Rathod Santhosh, and Rathod Sakram of Bidar district, Jan Bhai, Nookaraju, Balaraju and Dasu from the villages of the Andhra Odisha Border (AoB)- are absconding.
