Jagtial: Unable to tolerate harassment by two stalkers in the name of love, an intermediate girl student died by suicide in Pegadapalli mandal.
According to the police, the girl, who was an intermediate first year student in a college in Pegadapalli, was harassed by one Basa Ramu of Ramabadrunipalli and another intermediate student from Rangadamunipalli of the same mandal in the name of love.
Vexed over their attitude, she made a suicide attempt by consuming pesticide on March 15.
Family members shifted her to a hospital in Karimnagar, where she breathed her last while undergoing treatment on Wednesday night.
Based on a complaint lodged by the mother of the victim, police have registered a case under the BNS, POCSO Act. An investigation is on.
