Peddapalli: The Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) has urged the Congress party to suspend the Chennur MLA Gaddam Vivek Venkatswamy’s family from the party for involving in anti-party activities.

Speaking to reporters in Godavarikhani on Saturday, INTUC central senior vice-president Kampelli Sammaiah and Vaddepalli Dasu wanted the Congress party to take action against Vivek’s family.

The MLA’s family, which claims that they were dictating politics in Peddapalli parliament constituency during the last four decades, was trying to damage the party by creating differences among the party cadre, he alleged.

It was not proper on the part of Vivek’s family to criticise IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu. Sridhar Babu, who made many sacrifices for the development of Peddapalli district.

He was encouraging young leaders irrespective of caste and class and achieving victories. It was ridiculous on the part of Vivek, his brother and MLA Vinod and son and MP Vamshikrishna to involve in anti-party activities instead of supporting the party at the time of SC classification.

The MLA’s family, which established 12 industries across the country, could not set up a single unit in Peddapalli Lok Sabha constituency. It showed the commitment of Vivek’s family for the development of the constituency, he said.
